Holiday joy spreads throughout Bel Air

Ella McGuire, Sports Editor

Christmas is full of joy and fun activities. Bel Air offers a lot of Christmas activities to spice up your holiday season.

The first is Bel Air’s Winter Wonderland. At the Bel Air Armory on Main Street, a Winter Wonderland awaits. You can walk around the Armory which will be lit with thousands of warm, twinkly lights.
The Winter Wonderland will also include live performances at the outdoor stage, in the middle of the path every Saturday night.
Along with the performances and beautifully displayed lights, Bel Air offers horse-drawn carriage rides. You have to sign up for a time slot beforehand, (in-person at the Armory), and then you can enjoy the ride.
Another fun activity that Bel Air is offering for the first time is a holiday drive-in movie. On Saturday, December 18, the Bel Air Downtown Alliance is hosting A Christmas Story drive-in event. Drive up at 6 pm, and kick-start your Christmas season.
John Carroll will also have its own share of Christmas fun
On Friday, December 17 and Saturday, December 18, JC’s College Preparatory Dance and Ballet Academy will present The Nutcracker.
December 17 will be Opening Night at 7 pm, and December 18 will have two performances. The first will be at 1 pm, and the second will be at 7pm.
The final event that a local business is doing will be a train garden. Broom’s Bloom opened their Train Garden the day after Thanksgiving and will run it through January 1.
The admission is free, but donations that are collected will go to the improvement of the garden.
Since Broom’s Bloom is an ice cream shop, you can enjoy holiday-themed ice cream while enjoying the joyous garden.
