Dumser’s Dairyland in Ocean City gets a makeover

Dumser’s Dairyland is an ice cream and dinner location in Ocean City, MD.

According to DumsersDairyland.com the restaurant has been open since 1939 when Mrs. Gladys Dumser started making her ice cream on the Ocean City Boardwalk. Since then, they have expanded to seven locations. Out of the seven, only two serve lunch and dinner (49th and 123rd Street). The rest just have ice cream.

Unfortunately, neither location serves breakfast.

Dumser’s offers an experience no other ice cream store can compare to. Not only can you get a regular ice cream cone or cup, but you can get a sundae with any topping you want. You also can get Super Sundaes, milkshakes, floats, and ice cream sodas.

You can purchase ice cream from their store, and you can also get dinner or lunch. You can order a hamburger or hot dog right from their service window, and do not have to worry about waiting to get a table inside.

Their stores are also spread all over Ocean City, so as many people as possible can get their experience. They have four shops, spreading all along the Boardwalk, and the other three are in West Ocean City, 49th Street, and 123rd Street.

For the two locations that serve lunch and dinner, their menu does vary a little bit. They have sandwiches and subs, baskets and platters, kids’ menus, salads, and soups. All prices are reasonable and the food an amazing.

Dumser’s also has this old-fashioned feel to it with old-fashioned colors, booths, and waiters’ outfits. The 123rd Street location just got a renovation with a brand-new ice cream bar inside, which owners hope will bring back the feel of an old-fashioned ice cream parlor.

The restaurant is also very welcoming. All the food that’s served is similar to a meal mothers would make for their children back in the day, meaning it is very comforting and reminds customers of home.

They have a wide variety of entrees. They serve wings, seafood, fried chicken, and even regular ham and cheese subs and sandwiches, which are not only good for adults, but good for kids, too.

Dumser’s is not only an enjoyable experience for adults, but it is also very kid-friendly.
The waiters work fast, are always checking in, and the food comes right away.

At Dumser’s, they try to keep minimal wait times, and they have a simple and easy kids meals that any kid would want to eat, and is also affordable for everyone.
