Lohr’s Orchard provides a fun fall experience for fun and treats

A fun fall activity for people who love being outdoors this time of year is a trip to Lohr’s Orchard.

Lohr’s Orchard has been open to the community since 1928 when it was started by Andrew and Harry Lohr. It has a variety of experiences for all ages.

One of their best-selling products is their famous apple cider. This fall treat made its way to Lohr’s in 1964 when Andrew Lohr, Jr. and his wife Zandra started hand cranked pressing. Now they mechanically run their apple cider, distributing it in stores all around Harford County.

Although they carry a variety of treats all year long, some of their fall favorites are the pies, apple cider, pumpkin donuts, tarts, and crumb cakes.

If sweets aren’t your thing, they have multiple sugar-free options as well. Any of these baked goods would be a hit at the Thanksgiving table.

Depending on the season, you can go pick your own produce at Lohr’s where they have a large selection of fruits and vegetables. During the fall season, you will see people coming from all over to pick apples and pumpkins.

On some fall weekends if the weather is good, you can take the hayride to the area with the apples and pumpkins.

While you drive to Churchville to get the full Lohr’s Orchard experience, you can also find their products at other local farms like Broom’s Bloom. Broom’s Bloom carries their fall-flavored donuts, and Lohr’s Orchard carries their homemade ice cream that pairs perfectly with their pies and other desserts.

Keyes Creamery in Aberdeen is another proud partner of Lohr’s. Keyes’ variety of cheeses is sold at Lohr’s Orchard, a great pairing with their homemade jam. When they are available, it is a great way to support local businesses.

If you like to veer away from the scary traditions of the fall season and prefer family friendly hayrides (without scary characters) than Lohr’s Orchard is for you.

The staff has a passion for providing high quality produce and goods for the Harford County community. With all of their local collaborations and their delicious homemade desserts, they give you a great reason to enjoy the season.
