Every year on the day February 14, love is celebrated.

Valentine’s Day is important to many across the country; it is a time when people get together and spend time with their loved ones. Students at John Carroll have interesting opinions on the day.

Junior Julia Ward said that Valentine’s Day to her is a great opportunity to spend time with her family. She said, “We decorate the house for Valentine’s Day and give each other Valentine’s Day presents.”

Sophomore Sophia Moskunas also spends time with her family as she commented, “I go out to dinner with my family.”

Valentine’s Day is a great opportunity to spend time with family and show how much you love and appreciate them. Not only do people spend time with their families, but they also spend time with their friends.

Freshman Ava Porrovicchio said, “My friends and I have a Galentine’s Day, so we can have a sleepover, eat food, and watch movies.”

Sophomore Myles Britt discussed how he feels about Valentine’s Day and said, “It brings people together, and it’s a day to show your love for the people you care about.”

Sophomore Vivian Carrico feels that Valentine’s Day should be emphasized more. “It should be a bigger holiday because it’s very important to celebrate your loved ones.”

Senior Breonne Swinton agreed and said, “I feel like it’s a really important holiday to show people that you actually love and care about them.”

Everybody has a different perspective on Valentine’s Day. Overall, Valentine’s Day is a day to celebrate the people you love and should be more recognized.
