Chicks arrive for spring

Ella McGuire, Assistant Media Chief

Springtime is just around the corner, and what better way to celebrate spring than with chicks.

The Mill of Bel Air brings chicks every year in March to kick off the spring season.

The chicks are brought out every Thursday, the only exception being April 13, their last day, which is a Wednesday.

Each week, The Mill brings out a new type of chick. For example, one Thursday will only have three specific chicks that won’t return. So, when buying, it’s best to know which species would be beneficial for you.

It’s also important to note that each chick is female unless specified differently.

You can find which species will be coming each week on The Mill’s website.

With each chick, there is a kit that comes with it. In each kit, there is a feeder, waterer, heat lamp, and a bag of shavings, all the essentials for your pet chicks.

The chicks also require intense care from their owners. Medicated food could be needed as the chicks are newly-hatched each week.

The Mill is conveniently located just outside of Main Street and is a five-minute drive from JC.
If you are ready to host chicks, The Mill is the place for you.
