Senior photo shoots are a beautiful and sentimental tradition. While it is more common for girls to book sessions, anyone can do them.

Senior shoots are most commonly done in the summer before senior year but continue to be done throughout the academic year. Getting a slot for a shoot can be hard, so booking early is key.

There are many people in the area who have started their own business doing senior pictures. When booking a professional shoot with someone, prices can range from $100 to $1,000. They make it a part of the business to have “Senior Reps” or ambassadors.

Being an ambassador means doing photo shoots throughout the year that the photographer uses as advertising and marketing. These are meant to be representations of senior photos. They can have various themes, including holidays, country, beach, or graduation.

Scenes or locations that have been common in recent years are beaches, farms, fields, country roads, or on a sports field.

Some local locations are Jerusalem Mill Village in Kingsville, The Liriodendron Mansion in Bel Air, Friends Concord Point Lighthouse in Havre de Grace, and Rocky Point Beach in Rocky Point.

Outfits commonly worn for girls are white dresses, jean skirts or jeans and a top, white maxi skirts with a colorful top, and college shirts or jerseys with jeans.

I will be doing my senior pictures with my dad. I love the sentimental value of it and knowing I can do them whenever and wherever.

Although the whole ambassador program and doing a professional shoot looks super fun, being able to do it with my dad is worth much more to me.
