As someone who lives in Fallston I have come to try many food spots around the area, one being The Local, a small restaurant next to Bel Air Road.
They offer outdoor seating, live music, and a fun vibe to have a great time there. From my experience dining here, I would describe their food as “unique.” When people come to visit my family, we love to bring them here.
The Local serves lunch, brunch, and dinner from 11:30 am-10:00 pm.
The Local has expanded into another location in White Marsh: “The Local on The Avenue.” I have also visited that one. The White Marsh restaurant is more open and spacious than the Fallston location but still serves the same delicious food.
Every time I’ve gone to The Local, the staff has always been friendly, provided excellent service, and gone out of their way to make the experience great. It’s a great atmosphere when they have live music with performers singing, making the customer feel welcome.
They offer soups like cream of crab, salads with add-ons like chicken, shrimp, salmon, and crab cakes. Their appetizers include cheese and charcuterie boards, mussels, shrimp, local wings, oysters, and deviled eggs. The sides cover mac and cheese, vegetables, corn, and house cut fries.
Their dinner menu includes Crab Cakes, Filet Mignon, Braveheart Farms NY Strip, Chicken and Waffle, and other dishes like Beef Wellington and Seafood Risotto. Although it can get very busy at both locations and parking is tricky in Fallston with Dunkin’ and Waffle House being next to it, their attention towards customers just focuses on the great experience.
I highly recommend going to The Local for a dinner or lunch, whether for any special occasion or just a great night out with friends or family.
