Senior Drew Evans was selected as a finalist for the Harford’s Most Beautiful Person Award given by the Harford County Department of Community Services.

This award gives recognition to people in Harford County who have made a positive difference.
Drew said the focus of the award is “to give unsung heroes that help their community some recognition.” This award is a huge honor and highlights people in the community who others should look up to for inspiration regarding service, scholarship, and attitude.

Drew described the process of getting selected as a finalist and said, “It was nice to be recognized. I still love doing community service regardless of the award, though.”

Drew also explained that he was likely selected as a finalist because he is the president and founder of the non-profit organization, VolunTeen, so he is constantly working to give back to his community whenever he can.

Even though Drew has created such a successful organization, he is very humble. He said that he is grateful to be in the position to be able to give back to his community and said, “I really love giving people what they need.”

In fact, Drew said that this is what resonates the most with him regarding the award. He explained that the award is admirable because it inspires others to help those in need, and there can always be more people to help.

Despite the award, Drew wants to continue working toward the goal of making the world a better place, and he plans on continuing his volunteer work with VolunTeen. He said, “I still plan to give back to my community whenever possible.”
