International parent weekend postponed

International Parent Weekend, which will be on Jan. 5 and 6, is an opportunity for the parents of JC International students to come visit their children and see what their lives in America are like.

According to Sandi Seiler, Coordinator of International Student Programs and World Languages teacher, “the goal of the event is to give international parents an opportunity to visit campus and experience the JC community on a personal level.”

The weekend has been postponed until January because many students’ parents could not make the trip for the weekend of Nov. 15.

“The first reason [that my parents couldn’t make it] is that it is kind of late. My parents only got the information two months ago, and it takes like half a year to process travel documents,” senior William Du, a Chinese international student, said.
