SGA purchases three new water fountains

At a meeting after winter break, the Student Government Association discussed purchasing new water fountains, which have both the standard water fountain and the bottle filler features.
These filtered water fountains ensure safe, clean drinking water for hydration. The SGA thought new fountains would benefit the school community positively.
The fountains were purchased and delivered this past month.
SGA Moderators Anthony Davidson and Allison Hall and SGA officers and delegates determined that the best placement for the water fountains would be in the third-floor academic hallway, the main U-Hallway, and in the Performing Arts hallway.
All three new fountains have now been installed.
Dr. Davidson said, “These spots for the water fountains are very convenient because sometimes students need to fill up their water bottles, and there may not be a bottle filler in a convenient or close area. The dancers, theatre students, and other students who partake in after-school activities had to go into the academic wing to fill up their water during rehearsal or other activities, which was inconvenient.”
The SGA hopes that this will help alleviate the inconvenience. These water fountains, especially in the U-Hallway, make water more accessible for students and visitors.  Students taking classes on the third floor now do not need to go to a different floor to fill a water bottle.
In addition to the water fountains, SGA is working to purchase additional microwaves for the cafeteria to increase the number from two to four.
SGA President Mia Snellenburg said, “That has been approved. Still, some facility needs must be addressed before adding more microwaves.”
