Over the course of this upcoming summer The John Carroll School building will be undergoing enhancements to improve the overall environment of the school.
The enhancements expected to be completed for the next school year include the replacement of gym bleachers which includes the addition of a Patriots Athletics logo, various landscaping projects around campus and in the courtyard, extra lighting in the chapel, and some classroom changes.
President Steve DiBiagio said, “The objective of summertime is to enhance the school in a way that is recognized and appreciated by the students.”
His goal is for students to arrive back on campus after summer and recognize the small changes.
“We’re continuing to work on landscaping and beautification of the campus,” explained Mr. DiBiagio.
This includes removing old trees that have become unstable and unsafe and landscaping on campus, specifically in the student courtyard.
Mr. DiBiagio said, “We are delighted that students spend so much time in the courtyard.”
The goal of the summer landscaping is to enhance these spaces to make sure that it looks “pretty and attractive” when students return in the fall.
As far as classroom modifications, there will be a number of desks being replaced as well as classrooms being repainted.
The chapel has recently received new seating and air conditioning this year and will continue to improve through the future lighting.
Mr. DiBiagio added, “The new lighting will make the chapel brighter and welcoming for students and faculty.”
Future renovations are going to be planned over the summer through work with architects. Mr. DiBiagio said these changes will be put in place within the next three years.
