Katy Perry’s “Hot N’ Cold” duet with Elmo has been banned from “Sesame Street.”
In her appearance, originally scheduled to air on New Year’s Eve, Perry reworked her song “Hot N’ Cold” to teach children about opposites.
When the clip was released on YouTube, the show’s producers decided not to air the clip on because viewer began complaining on Perry’s clothing.
Although her low-cut dress is slightly revealing, her chest is not bare but covered with a thin, see-through mesh to her neck.
Honestly, I’m sure many kids have seen their moms dress like that in the summer or when they go out for nice dinners.
Actually, kids have probably seen worse than that in the real world. Don’t some of Barbie’s clothes look like that?
If you really think about it, Perry’s outfit looks a lot like what Tinkerbell wears, which is probably what most kids would have associated it with. And Tinkerbell doesn’t even wear straps.
Besides, kids watching “Sesame Street” are too young to think of things like Perry’s dress in a sexual way. The complaints came from the parents, not the kids.
Sesame Street shouldn’t have had to remove Perry’s song. Parents can control what their kids can and can’t watch on TV. That’s what the remote is for.
