What We Like Now: December

GRATITUDE FOR ADVISORS: WE LIKE THAT during the Thanksgiving Prayer Service, we were able to show gratitude towards our advisors. We were able to do this by writing why we are thankful for them on a colorful paper apple. This was good because sometimes we don’t always show our appreciation towards our advisors, so this was a fun way to do it. We like that we were able to give these to our advisors to keep at the end of the activity.

GIFT CARDS FOR DECORATING: WE LIKE HOW the SGA handed out gift cards to the advisors so they could purchase supplies for door decorating. The advisors were given $25 Amazon gift cards. It took a financial burden off the advisors so that they did not have to pay for all the decorations themselves. The gift cards were distributed with plenty of time for advisors to make their purchases.

PARADE PARTICIPATION: WE LIKE THAT our very own John Carroll band performed in the 33rd Annual Town of Bel Air Christmas Celebration parade. It was a fun way to celebrate and support our fellow John Carroll Patriots outside of school. The parade was on December 3 at 3:30, and it traveled down Main Street which allowed for many places to view our band. While the weather was not perfect, it was great to hear our band and see our color guard perform and to show their community spirit among other Harford County bands. They also had performed the day before in the White Marsh Christmas Parade.

THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE: WE LIKE THAT we were able to support many local parishes with our canned food drive. Even though it was last minute, we were also able to support another parish in Fallston that was also in need of canned food for their food pantry. We liked how this brought us together as a community and how the top three advisories who brought in the most cans won breakfast. We hope that we are able to bring in even more food during next year’s food drive.
