Baseball must re-play innings

The baseball team was originally set to play at Mt. Saint Joe today, May 12. However, they will be back home playing a game they already won.

2-1 was the original final result of the Curley vs. JC playoff game on Monday, May 11. Today after school, the baseball team will re-play the final inning and a half with the score 2-2 at 4:15 p.m.

In the top of the sixth inning, Curley had the bases loaded and one out. The batter hit a high fly ball and the base runners attempted tagging up. The runner on second was caught out trying to tag up, but the runner on third successfully tagged in a run.

However, the umpire did not count the run. After the game, Curley protested the call. The MIAA reviewed the situation and determined the fairest solution for all involved was to re-play the last inning and a half.

The score will start at 2-2 in the bottom of the sixth. JC will be up batting and the game will continue until a victor is decided. To keep their championship hopes alive JC must win this game.
