NFL continues amid COVID outbreaks

For the NFL, September came and went without any major bumps in the road. They were able to play amid a pandemic without many problems, but October began to look like a new story.

The first sign of some potential problems for the NFL came with a number of positive tests from the Tennessee Titans. In late September, some of their staff members would begin to test positive. This quickly became an organization-wide outbreak with a number of their players and staff testing positive.
COVID-19 continued to cause problems for the NFL as more and more teams reported cases among players and staff. These cases eventually lead to the NFL postponing multiple games for multiple teams.
The outbreaks of COVID-19 in the NFL caused the league to change their protocols as well. The changes the NFL’s COVID-19 protocols are geared towards the way organizations operate internally such as mask and physical distancing rules. These protocol changes should not affect anything from a fan’s point of view.
This NFL season is beginning to become more and more unpredictable.
If the number of cases of COVID-19 continues to rise, more games will be postponed and may begin to be canceled. If the NFL cannot get the situation under control, the NFL season may not go as smoothly as September did.
