JC sports move from paying in cash to paying online

As technology has advanced, John Carroll has taken the next step to become a more technology-based school.

JC has been doing in-person payments for many years, but now that surrounding schools like Bel Air High School and Fallston High School are changing to online tickets, JC made the next step to do online tickets.

This decision was made by Athletic Director Seth Goldberg.

Mr. Goldberg said, “We are moving as an entire society to the technology world. The more we can give people the opportunity of doing it on their phones, doing it before they come, the less lines, less issues that could happen while we are there, and it just gives a little bit more flexibility. I think flexibility is a great opportunity.”

This brings great opportunities for JC to grow as a community. Everything people do is on their phones, from paying for items to getting groceries delivered to their houses.

A problem that has been brought to surface with many of the parents is whether in-person payments will still be offered for older people or if people forget to get an online ticket.

Mr. Goldberg took this into account, and he said, “Any time you make change, you don’t want to go all in. We want to find a way to support everyone as we are transitioning. We are going to make sure we have the ability to still pay in other ways. We understand there are going to be problems and things we need to work out.”

This will provide JC with more flexibility and a new way for people to pay for sporting events without having to worry about carrying extra cash.
