During his incredible final cross country season, Andrew Brown managed to make Harford’s All-County First Team, and he took the “Runner of the Year” title as well.

“The recipient of the award is voted on by all the coaches from the ‘B’ Conference,” said Coach Michael Monaghan. These circumstances give the award a substantial weight to it as anyone who receives this award should consider it a high honor.

Andrew said, “The award took me off guard, but I am very honored to have received it. . . The award is just a representation of hard work and grit,”

As Andrew’s last year at JC ends, he appreciates the memories and friendships he has made, especially those on the cross country team.

Andrew’s favorite cross country memory is his last home meet. Andrew said, “We had so many families and friends come out to watch, and we ended our dual season undefeated.”

He fell in love with cross country in middle school and continues to love the sport; he is hoping to run in college, too.

Andrew wants to major in mechanical engineering, and he wants running to be a part of his college experience as well.

He commented, “I have learned so much about it this past year from my coaches and hope to keep pursuing running in the future.”
