Ravens Wrap-Up: Baltimore Ravens lose early in playoffs

The Ravens ended their season on a rather heartbreaking note. The team made the playoffs only to make an early departure.

The Ravens had a solid team when they were healthy this past season, and they should have made it all of the way to the Super Bowl.

In fact, the Ravens had the best team that they have had in years, but they, unfortunately, had one of the worst offensive coordinators that they have ever had.

They had a solid offense and a really solid defense and had the capability to be a really good team. However, this year was just not their year. If the Ravens resign their consistent and solid players, while also bringing in a fresh and new Offensive Coordinator, they have the capability to make it to the Super Bowl next year.

Many Ravens fans are happy that Offensive Coordinator Greg Roman is gone because he didn’t utilize all of the offense’s strength in a way that allowed the team to win. Roman had one of the best run offenses in all of the NFL, yet he continued to call pass plays that weren’t working for the offense.

The Ravens hired Todd Monken from the University of Georgia to fill the offensive coordinator position. Hopefully, Monken can utilize the strengths of the Raven offense.

With quarterback Lamar Jackson’s contract being up there is a chance he doesn’t return for the 2023 season. The Ravens may choose to use their franchise tag on Jackson, but that doesn’t guarantee him to be healthy for next season.

If the Ravens want Jackson as their starting quarterback, they will have to make sure he stays healthy for the next season.

This off-season, the Ravens have to continue to build on the past season, keep bringing in talent, and find a new Offensive Coordinator who will properly utilize the offense’s capabilities.
