Senior Grace Marchetti played for the lacrosse, basketball, and soccer program all throughout her years at John Carroll.
She received the Twelve Season Athlete and the Al Cesky awards for her dedication to all three sports.
She was a major leader and role model for those who strove to be better at their sport every day.
As Grace’s high school athletic career wrapped up, she reminisced about the memories, friends, and lessons that she has had along her journey.
While Grace participated in three high school sports at JC, her passion for lacrosse was always unmatched. Grace has decided to continue her lacrosse career at James Madison University.
Grace said, “I am looking forward to playing at the highest level with the best competition, winning championships. I am also looking forward to the culture and people who come with JMU lacrosse.”
Since Grace plans on continuing her lacrosse career at the next level, she leaves behind two other sports that she has enjoyed playing throughout her youth and high school career.
“I am going to miss the atmosphere of playing basketball and the pace of the game being so much different. I am going to miss soccer because it was always my fun sport, and it is where I met my best friends.”
Grace always strove to have a positive environment on and off the field, whether it was she or someone else making a play. Her positivity and energy was the foundation for having such a connected team.
Grace said, “I am going to miss my teammates who have turned into my forever friends and all the coaches I have had. I couldn’t be more grateful for the people that JC Athletics have placed into my life.”
Grace’s favorite memories include scoring the winning goal to beat St. Paul’s during her junior year of lacrosse. She added that “beating McDonough my senior year of basketball was one of my favorite memories, too.”
Although Grace’s athletic journey may be finished at JC, her hard work and dedication are things that will follow her into the next phases of her athletic career.
