On Friday, Feb. 9, the men’s and women’s basketball teams hosted a triple header, with the JV and varsity men’s teams hosting Annapolis Area Christian School, and the varsity women’s team hosting St. Frances Academy. The JV women’s team was also scheduled to play, however the game was canceled.

    The varsity women lost a tough game to the undefeated number one seed in the IAAM “A” Conference, St. Frances Academy. While the team lost 70-38, the game featured strong performances from senior Myah Savage with 14 points and two assists and junior Jordan Wakefield with seven points and 10 rebounds.

    The men’s basketball team had a strong victory, 92-47, over Annapolis Area Christian School. Before the game, the team honored senior Brandon Craig’s mother, who passed away from lung cancer. They also debuted a new design on the back of their jerseys, lavender ribbons to support cancer awareness. Senior Immanuel Quickley was also honored before the game for his selection to play in the McDonald’s All American Game. Quickley had a strong game, recording his fifth triple-double of the season. Other players with notable contributions were junior Yavuz Gultekin with 18 points, senior Nigel Haughton with 14 points, sophomore Cameron Byers with 17 points, and Craig with 12 points.
