After four years at The John Carroll School, the final school day for the Class of 2025 was on Friday, May 16. Seniors met in the Upper Gym at 8:00 am, and a delay for the remainder of the student body allowed members of the faculty to join the seniors for breakfast. During the breakfast, seniors walked around the gym to get both classmates and teachers to sign their yearbooks. During the morning’s activities, seniors played games, won prizes, and enjoyed music. Their time in the gym concluded with a slideshow of their senior year. The remainder of the school community then lined the halls with noise makers and cheered as the seniors concluded their day at school by walking through the second floor and out the front door.
How did seniors feel as they walked out of the door on their last day?
Olivia Ayd: “I am sad, so sad.”
Eva Vatenos: “I am scared for my future but happy it’s over.”
Eleanor Hughes: “Relief.”
Grace Marchetti: “It’s surreal. My four years flew by, and seeing all the people I’m leaving behind makes it real.”
Alexa Lang: “I feel grateful for all my friends and the memories I’ve made. It’s honestly a mix of emotion: happy and sad, and I really am just grateful.”
Kelley Hurdle: “Kind of both sad and excited”
Maddie Wassin: “I feel great and excited for summer.”
Margaret Patterson: “Emotional, nostalgic, and bittersweet.”
Matteo Rizzotti: “It’s what I have been waiting for, and it feels good.”
Annie Minoglio: “It’s really sad because I remember seeing all the other seniors do their walk, and now that I am doing it, it’s surreal.”
Emma Nichols: “I feel really sad because I’m going to miss everyone.”
