Senior Joe Kyburz is a Copy Editor for The Patriot and jcpatriot.com. Kyburz served as junior class president and is the current senior class president. He is active in Habitat for Humanity and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Kyburz plays four varsity sports: cross country, wrestling, swimming, and outdoor track. He is a member of the National Chinese Honor Society and National Art Honor Society. When he is not running JC, Kyburz enjoys volunteering as an emergency medical technician, procrastinating, bragging about his SAT score, and arguing with people. The Maryland Department of Education has suggested that all schools implement gender-neutral, one color graduation gowns for both sexes in order to create a more accepting environment for transgender or non-gender conforming students. Howard County Public Schools and Aberdeen High School have implemented the change, and other schools have considered it.
