Cobra Kai

Now with Season Four on Netflix, this popular show is great for fans of The Karate Kid. Viewers get to see the story of Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence thirty-four years later, as their rival dojos compete to be the best. Including love triangles, fights, and lots of humor, this show is a must watch.

Quantico

Originally airing on ABC, Quantico tells the story of Alex Parrish (played by Priyanka Chopra), an FBI agent who has been framed for the bombing of Grand Central Station. In a series of flashbacks mixed with current events, viewers get to try and solve the mystery of which agent in the FBI Academy framed her. Since the mystery wraps up in one season, this show is a fantastic weekend binge.

One Day at a Time

A spin off to the original One Day at a Time popular in the ‘70s, this sitcom follows a Cuban-American family and the struggles they face in their day to day lives. POC and LGBTQ representation allows this show to be relatable for many and the characters are very memorable. This is highly recommended for those who want a feel-good show based on the value of family.

The Umbrella Academy

Having siblings is never easy, but for the Hargreeves family, difficult is an understatement. Add super strength, teleportation, and some time travel into the mix. Add an oncoming apocalypse, too. Things never get easier for the Hargreeves. With two seasons and a third on the way later this year, The Umbrella Academy is one of the best sci-fi shows on Netflix. Don’t miss out on this hidden gem.

Mindhunter

In the late 1970s, the FBI didn’t understand the minds of criminals who commit unique crimes. That is, until Holden Ford (played by Jonathan Groff) and Bill Tench study the minds of these criminals and coin the phrase “serial killers.” This show follows the study and the effects it has on the agents’ personal lives. Mindhunter is rated TV-MA for mature audiences.

The Good Place

For lovers of comedy, philosophy, and Kristen Bell, this is the show for you. Have you ever wondered what happens after death? Well, it’s simple. Or is it? You either end up in the good place or the bad place. But for Eleanor, she isn’t so sure the good place is where she belongs. Heartfelt and hilarious, all four seasons are available on Netflix.

Alexa & Katie

If the entire family is looking for something to watch during the chilly winter months, this show is perfect. Alexa and Katie are best friends trying to survive high school. Life gets crazy with their family’s drama, school, and Alexa’s cancer treatment. However, they help each other through everything, demonstrating the importance of friendship.

Stranger Things

Stranger Things is one of the most popular shows on Netflix and rightfully so. The year is 1983, and things are getting weird in Hawkins, Indiana. A perfect mix of drama and sci-fi, along with lovable characters, this show will keep you up all night glued to the screen. Be sure to watch before Season Four is released later this year.

Fuller House

Another great watch for the family, this show brings viewers back to the life of the Tanner family, originally introduced in Full House. D.J. returns to her San Francisco home, and with raising kids, balancing family, and searching for romance, nothing is ever boring in the Tanner home. With the passing of Danny Tanner actor Bob Saget, renewed interest has been expressed in the show. Catch up on all five seasons now.

Manifest

Imagine hopping on a plane for a couple of hours and landing five years later. The passengers of Montego Air Flight 828 don’t have to imagine. As their lives spiral out of control and the mystery thickens, one thing is for sure. Nothing will ever be the same again. Now available on Netflix and NBC, Manifest is sure to keep you on your toes.
