“Ted Lasso” is a hilarious new comedy series that stars Jason Sudeikis as the title character, an American football coach who finds himself coaching a Premier League soccer team in Europe. Lasso travels to London to coach a soccer club called AFC Richmond. Players and fans of the team are not happy to hear that Lasso has zero-experience ever playing or coaching soccer.
In all honestly, the series starts out a bit slowly. The first episode just gives the audience some basic background information. The main characters are introduced, and after that, nothing much really happens.
Although the first episode is a bust, the series really begins to pick up beginning in the second episode.
As the characters continue to express themselves more and more, the show gets even funnier as you continue watching.
The show has racked up quite a bit of buzz lately because of all the high ratings and great reviews, Apple + decided to renew the show for a second season only after the third episode.
Although “Ted Lasso” mostly contains sarcastic jokes and light-hearted humor, there is some helpful advice for all athletes sprinkled into the show as well. Lasso is constantly giving great advice to his players and peers. While some of the players in the show may not take his advice, any athlete can use it and apply it to their own game.
What makes this show truly unique is the diverse characters. Lasso is possibly one of the most uplifting and positive fictional characters on TV. He is so different than any other coach depicted in other movies and TV shows. He uses funny sayings and strange analogies to help his players overcome their struggles on and off the field.
In addition, there are other characters who often clash with Lasso and do not approve of his coaching tactics. Lasso usually keeps his cool and sticks with what he thinks is right. He proves that as long as you believe in yourself, you can do anything.
“Ted Lasso” is unlike any TV show you’ve seen before. It is extremely funny and very heart-warming. The characters will capture your heart and help you believe in yourself.
