Maddie Root is a senior at John Carroll and is the editor-in-chief of The Patriot. This is her fourth year on the staff. In addition to working on the newspaper, Maddie plays soccer and runs track and field for John Carroll. When she’s not playing sports or working on the newspaper, she likes to play with her three dogs: Tagg, Oakley, and Nova, read books, and watch movies with her family.
