Reviewing Chick-fil-A from the perspective of an employee

Chick-fil-A Bel Air

I have been working at Chick-fil-A for more than a year, and that means I have also been eating the food for more than a year.

The Chick-fil-A in Bel Air is open from 6 am-10 pm and it is located at 408 Baltimore Pike. It is open every day, except for Sundays. Just recently, the dining room closed, so customers cannot eat inside anymore. This is because of the COVID-19 precautions the restaurant is required to take.
Although the actual building is big, the parking lot is small, and people tend to get stuck in line for a while. It is also hard for people to park when it is busy, and even harder to get out of the parking lot. At the busiest times, cars stretch all the way outside of the parking lot, which causes a lot of traffic and longer wait times. The employees working always try their best to figure out the traffic and make sure everyone gets through in a good time. The best time to go is from 2-5 pm because it is right in between the lunch and dinner rushes.
Chick-fil-A is known for the Original Chicken Sandwich although lots of people order the nuggets and the spicy sandwich, too. A menu item that has also been gaining a lot of popularity is the grilled club sandwich, which is a grilled sandwich with lettuce, tomato, cheese, and bacon on it. My favorite thing to get is the grilled sandwich meal with mac & cheese. Some menu items that are not well-known is the strawberry frosted lemonade, mocha cream cold brew, chocolate cookies and cream milkshake, and the veggie wrap.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is usually always positive and all the employees try their best to work with customers. My first impression when I started working there was that there was a lot of information to remember, but after working there for a while, it gets easy to remember how to do everything. My co-workers have always been welcoming, and we have a lot of customers who come almost every day to see us.
Although the food is expensive, there are a lot of free items and discounts you can get if you use the app. Also after working there for a while, I believe the food is worth the money. Unlike other local fast food restaurants, the quality of the food at Chick-fil-A is great, and everything is fresh from the kitchen. Also, Chick-fil-A has better service in comparison to other restaurants, and most of the time it is always efficient.
What may surprise people about working at Chick-fil-A is the amount of time employees have to be outside. Even when it is extremely hot or raining, employees are required to be outside taking orders. Usually someone can be working outside for two or three hours in a row. Order takers only go inside before closing or if it storms. Employees who are inside have to be re-filling sauces and working stations constantly, and during rushes, it gets pretty crazy. For example, the drink station usually needs ice to be poured from ice buckets, sweet and unsweetened tea, lemonade and diet lemonade, lids, cups, and even drink stickers. Employees also have to clean the bathrooms and the drive thru everyday.
My favorite part about working at Chick-fil-A is making milkshakes or bagging the food because milkshakes are a lot of fun to make, and bagging food is kind of like solving a puzzle. To bag food, you have to fit everything in a few bags, and stack things a certain way so it all fits.
The food is always good, and everyone working tries their best to make the customer’s day better!
