The Harry Potter movie, ‘Return to Hogwarts’ finally aired on January 1st on HBO Max.

The film included some popular cast members like Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint while also including actors who portrayed less popular characters like Tom Felton, Bonnie Wright, and Evanna Lynch.
The documentary special interviews both cast members and directors and gets their take on filming the beloved movie series. Author JK Rowling was also briefly featured in the film although her scenes were shot from a 2019 interview. I absolutely loved this reunion. I grew up reading Harry Potter and fell in love with it after the first chapter of Book One.
Going into the reunion movie, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The cast had posted teasers on social media, which really excited me but said nothing about the type of content that would be shown.
After the movie ended, I was completely blown away.
They interviewed the cast about set life, growing up as child actors, and how fame impacted their lives.
Many of the cast members hadn’t seen each other since the end of filming The Deathly Hallows, but their interactions seemed as if no time had passed at all.
The three directors who worked on the series explained how they filmed scenes with heavy CGI and elaborate props. Some behind-the-scenes footage and deleted scenes were also shown throughout the duration of the documentary.
An inevitable, bittersweet moment occurred during the movie when a tribute to all of the actors who passed away during or after filming was complete. It included actors like Alan Rickman, who played Severus Snape and Helen McCroy, who played Narcissa Malfoy.
The Return to Hogwarts truly felt like a return home, seeing all of my favorite actors and characters finally back together again, and it will be something to be remembered forever.
