Valentine’s Day is the day of spreading love through words, actions, and gifts.

The most popular flowers given are red and pink roses, tulips, and orchids. The colors and smell of the flowers are what make them attractive for gift giving.

Since Valentine’s Day is the first big holiday in the new year, stores like Target, Walmart, CVS, and Walgreens begin preparing for the Valentine’s season as soon as the new year hits.

Other very popular items that hit the shelves early in convenience stores are candies and chocolates. Most candies that are given on Valentine’s Day are regular jelly beans, Skittles, Starburst and more but are re-branded to be Valentine’s theme and heart shaped. The heart shaped candies make them more likely to be bought around this season

Although candy is a popular gift on Valentine’s Day, chocolates are the most popular edible item given as a gift. Chocolates are generally given in heart shaped assortment boxes. The most popular chocolate brands sold around Valentine’s Day are Ghirardelli, Ferrero Rocher, Godiva, and Russell Stover.

You will also find a lot of stuffed animals like teddy bears on shelves around this time. There are options to get customized teddy bears with messages or notes.
