Macaroni & Cheese Meltdown: Chick-fil-A vs Noodles & Co.

This issue’s battle is between Chick-fil-A and Noodles & Company. Macaroni and Cheese is a popular comfort food, and both restaurants make the dish well.

Taste

Chick-fil-A: Although the mac and cheese looks delicious, it doesn’t have much flavor to it, and the noodles are pretty soggy. It was decent for fast food mac and cheese.

Noodles & Co.: The meals are given in plastic to-go containers, even when dining in, which is a little weird. The food itself looks very good and has a layer of cheese on top of the pasta.

Accessibility

Chick-fil-A: There are multiple Chick-fil-A restaurants within close vicinity of John Carroll, all under 30 minutes from campus. The closest is 2.2 miles away in Bel Air on Route 1.

Noodles & Co.: There is a Noodles & Company 10 minutes from John Carroll in Bel Air, and there is also one in White Marsh.

Look

Chick-fil-A: The look of the meal when in the Chick-fil-A bowl looks homemade and very appetizing.

Noodles & Co.: The meals are given in plastic to-go containers, even when dining in, which is a little weird. The food itself looks very good and has a layer of cheese on top of the pasta.

Price

Chick-fil-A: Three sizes are offered for this side: small being $3.25, medium being $3.99, and large being $7.79. There’s also an option to add bacon bits, which is an extra $.70.

Noodles & Co.: Two size options are available for this meal: regular is $7.00, and small is $5.75. There are options available to add meat to the pasta, and this costs anywhere between $3.00-$3.95.

Our Winner Is: While this was a close battle overall, the winner of this battle is Noodles and Company’s macaroni and cheese. The meal is higher in price, but considering the differentiation in portion size, it’s definitely worth it. The flavor of the dish is creamy and delicious.
